Laura Cannell

Laura Cannell is a highly acclaimed and innovative composer/performer based in Norfolk, UK. Laura is a self-taught fiddle player and studied recorder at London College of Music and the University of East Anglia. She is a founder member of experimental folk duo Horses Brawl.

Project Update:

In December 2011 Laura completed a residency at Aldeburgh Music. Here she worked on her new project ‘Renaissance Uprising’ for which she composed a new body of work and collaborated with experimental harpist Rhodri Davies. The project was performed at Aldeburgh Festival in June 2012. The culmination of this collaboration is a new album ‘Feathered Swing of the Raven’ due for release on September 10th. Laura was nominated for a Norfolk Arts Award in the music category this year for her work with Horses Brawl and work as a solo experimental and early music performer.
